Imagine a world where death is merely an inconvenience . . . Souls of the departed return, inhabit new bodies, and life continues—fully aware of past experience. Every talent, love and distaste, remembered. Immortal paradise? Not under the rule of strict conformists. No afterlife—endless life, eternally oppressed by a society that forbids individuality, artistic expression, and free thinking. Not all citizens agree, and the misfits must go. But for a population that reincarnates, how can the conformist leaders wipe out insurgents? Death is not an end. The misfits will return, again, and again. The final solution—perpetual amnesia.
